Under the hood, passkeys are built on the industry-standard WebAuthn (Web Authentication) protocol. When you register a passkey, your device generates a unique cryptographic key pair:

How to Register Your Biometric Passkey

Follow these simple steps to link your active device to your MyBizOnline OS account. You must perform this registration from the device you wish to use (e.g. register your MacBook while logged in on your MacBook, or your Google Pixel while logged in on your phone).

Step 1: Open Security Settings

Log in to your MyBizOnline OS dashboard using your email and password. Click on Settings in the main navigation menu, then navigate to the Security & Biometrics tab.

Step 2: Register a New Key

Scroll to the Security & Biometrics section. Under "Register a New Biometric Key", click the blue Register Passkey button.

Step 3: Approve Your Device Prompts

Your web browser will display a native system dialogue box asking to verify your identity. * MacBook / macOS: Place your finger on the Touch ID sensor, or use your Apple Watch. * Windows: Enter your Windows Hello PIN, use your fingerprint sensor, or look at the facial recognition camera. * Android (Google Pixel, Pro, etc.): Touch the fingerprint scanner on your screen or approve the facial scan prompt. * iPhone / iOS: Look at the screen for Face ID or use Touch ID.

Once authenticated, your browser will confirm registration with a success toast: “Biometric Passkey successfully registered.”

2. Instead of typing your email and password, click the SIGN IN WITH BIOMETRICS button located directly below the password form.
3. Your browser will prompt you to scan your fingerprint or face.
4. Verify your identity, and your dashboard session will initialize and log you in immediately.

Does this disable my standard password?

No, it does not. Passkeys act as an additional, optional access method. You can still type your email and password to log in at any time.

Are my fingerprint or facial scan details shared with MyBizOnline?

Absolutely not. Biometric matching is handled entirely locally by your device’s operating system (iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows). MyBizOnline only receives a secure, mathematically signed message confirming that the check succeeded. Your biometric data remains completely private.
